Born in North Carolina, William Henry
Barlow descended from the Isle of Wight, VA Barlow lineage and is, to
date, our earliest documented ancestor. He and his wife, Susan
Frances Phillips, lived in Lawrence and Giles Counties and were the
parents of nine children (a tenth died in infancy). William
Henry Barlow is buried in the vicinity of Brick Church, Tennessee.
